Terms of Service
Last updated: [18/01/2027]
These terms are an agreement between you and Rent Your Spot. By creating an account, listing a spot or booking a spot, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.
1. What Rent Your Spot is
Rent Your Spot is an online marketplace that connects people who want to rent a parking spot ("renters") with people who have a parking spot to rent out ("hosts"). We are not a party to the rental agreement between a host and a renter. We do not own, operate or control any parking spot, and we do not provide parking, storage, security or insurance.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
- You must give accurate information and keep your account details up to date.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password secure.
3. Monthly bookings only
All bookings are for monthly parking, with a minimum of one month. There are no hourly or daily bookings. Cancellations and ending a booking are covered in our Cancellation Policy.
4. For hosts
- You confirm that you own the spot or have the right to rent it out. If you rent your home or own a condo, check your lease, condo rules and local bylaws first.
- Your listing must be accurate, including the location, size and any access rules.
- You set your own monthly price. You can accept or decline any booking request.
- You must make the spot available to a renter whose booking you have accepted.
- You are responsible for any taxes that apply to the money you earn.
5. For renters
- You must park only the vehicle you registered for the booking, and only in the spot you booked.
- You must follow the host's access instructions and any reasonable rules in the listing.
- You must not use the spot for anything unlawful, to store goods, to repair vehicles or to live in a vehicle.
- You are responsible for any damage you or your vehicle cause to the spot or property.
6. Payments and fees
Renters pay through the site using our payment provider. We charge hosts a service fee on each booking, and the fee is shown before a host accepts a booking. After a booking is confirmed, hosts are paid through the payout method they set up in their account, minus our fee.
7. Keep bookings and payments on the site
To protect both sides, hosts and renters must make bookings and payments through Rent Your Spot. Arranging a booking or payment outside the site to avoid our fee is not allowed, and we may suspend or close an account that does this. Bookings made outside the site are not covered by our support or refund policies.
8. Insurance and risk
Rent Your Spot does not insure vehicles, belongings or property. Renters should keep valid auto insurance, and hosts should check what their own insurance covers. Parking is at your own risk.
9. Reviews and content
You own the photos and text you post, but you give us permission to display them on the site to run the service. Do not post anything false, offensive or that belongs to someone else.
10. Things you must not do
- Break the law or the rights of others.
- Post false or misleading listings.
- Harass or threaten other users.
- Interfere with the site or try to access it in an unauthorised way.
11. Suspending accounts
We may suspend or close an account, or remove a listing, if someone breaks these terms or puts others at risk. You can close your account at any time, but active bookings must be ended under the Cancellation Policy.
12. Limits on our responsibility
The site is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, Rent Your Spot is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to vehicles or property, for disputes between hosts and renters, or for losses that are not a direct result of our actions. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law does not allow to be limited.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make an important change, we will tell you through the site or by email. Using the site after a change means you accept it.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
